Andres H. Sandoval
Andrés H. Sandoval focuses his practice on asset recovery, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights litigation.
Sandoval represents individual and institutional clients in domestic and international judgment collection matters, bankruptcy litigation under Chapter 7 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, cross-border insolvency proceedings under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code, actions to collect evidence for use in foreign proceedings under 28 U.S.C. § 1782, fraudulent avoidance actions, and other commercial disputes. Sandoval has particular expertise in conducting complex discovery proceedings to trace secreted onshore and offshore assets. He also regularly works with teams in multiple jurisdictions to recover and return assets or value to the victims of fraud.
Sandoval has spoken on the topic of foreign judgment enforcement at the NAFTA Symposium of the 2015 Florida Bar annual conference. He is also an active member of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar and the current Vice-Chair of the Legislative Committee. In that role, he has worked with committee members to propose, draft, and support or oppose legislation on a variety of topics impacting international law.
Multilingual, Sandoval works frequently with foreign clients and firms. Born in Venezuela, he has native proficiency in Spanish. He is also fluent in Italian and conversant in Portuguese.
Sandoval received his law degree from the University of Florida and his undergraduate degree from Florida International University. During law school, Sandoval served as an intern to Bankruptcy Judge Robert A. Mark. He was also an active member of Florida’s Moot Court Team, and competed in the Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot where he was awarded the Martin Domke Award for Best Individual Oralist, distinguishing him as one of the top oral advocates from competitors from nearly 300 law schools.
Sandoval is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida and Georgia, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.
